Divine Manifestation of
"I love you my God and ...", but he
does not remember what followed after the "and…", so he called
Angela, who like an angel
assists him day and night in his suffering senescence.
He asks her if this "I love you my God and
..." occurs in one of the hymns to God, which she had sung when he fell
asleep.
Angela reflects but cannot find anything that she
had sung with these words.
Immediately there is
appearing this wonderful prayer
of the Curé of Ars that begins with these words: "I love you, O my
God, and ..."
I love you, O my infinitely lovable God, and I
would rather die loving you, than live without loving you.
I love you, Lord, and
the only grace I ask is to love you eternally.
My God, if my
tongue cannot say in every moment that I love you,
I want my heart to repeat it
to you as often as I draw breath.
My God,
grant me the grace to die loving you
and knowing that I love you.
